First Day of School, Part I

Jay the First Grader, August 2007

Jay the Kindergartner, August 2006. Sniff.
Meeting up with his buddies Christian and Alex
Lining up with his class and teacher, Miss Fitzgerald.
Laboring under the weight of his school supplies, Jay heads into school.

I just heard the creaky screen door of summer slam shut.

Ben starts Wednesday.

Oh, weep.....for summers gone and little boys who must grow up.

He sure looks all bright and eager. I'm sure that will get knocked out of him soon enough. In the meantime, it's hard to watch them toddle off to formal education without a backward glance. No good bye or thanks for the early childhood. (sigh)

He is indeed bright, eager and growing up.

He has been very excited for school to start and was happy with his day. He is thrilled that he get's to go the computer lab this year.

Jay! Way to go!

It's fun to see uniforms. I don't remember it being especially fun to wear them. The green polyester pants could light matches, I think.

Okay, my heart melted when I saw those pictures. Can you remember some of your "first days"? I can . . . sort of.

Thanks.
